With the growing demand from brand manufacturers and companies for non-PVC prints develops and increases, screen printers using old-fashioned plastisol are looking for making a change. No one wants to drive away customers, but what changes will the print shop need to make to fulfil the customer’s needs?
The struggle to have a non-PVC solution for their customers that works like a plastisol ink in production has been the greatest challenge for ink manufacturers. The invention of a better, more user-friendly, high-solids water-based ink is one solution. On press, this ink has a similar feel and look to plastisol, but it has a longer open screen time, but the print techniques are somewhat different in the shop.
That is why, DAS Waterbased Ink manufacturers and supplies a top-quality range of inks to meet printing needs of every type. Here are a few reasons that make our waterbased ink the best in the market—
Our water-based textile printing ink provides the best possible, deep and lasting finish on both light as well as dark coloured fabrics including poly/cotton, bamboo, Tencel, polyester, linen, organic cotton, modal, and cotton, to name a few.
The ink gets impeccably absorbed into the cloth, resulting in crisp edges, vibrant colours, and long-lasting prints that do not fade, peel or flake. The prints will not budge no matter how much you iron, flex, stretch, rub, or scratch them.
We can produce astonishingly soft prints on light and dark coloured fabrics using our water-based inks. Since the ink is absorbed properly rather than sitting on top of the cloth, the printed surface looks the same as the rest of the fabric. Our water-based inks are free of formaldehyde and do not need to be cleaned before using them for the first time.
Large/oversized prints are particularly well-suited to our water-based textile printing inks. They’re so soft and breathable that they’re not only as comfortable as the original fabric, but they’re still breathable. Our water-based inks, unlike Plastisol inks, which sit on top of the fabric like an oil/plastic sticker, allow air and moisture to move through. It’s ideal for cycling, hiking, and other outdoor sportswear. It’s as comfortable as you’re wearing a blank tee.
Our inks are free of PVC, phthalates, and other harmful chemicals. They’re made without lead or other heavy metals, and they meet quality requirements, so they’re safe to use even on baby clothes, socks, and swimwear.
Our skin absorbs the air around it. What you put on your skin close to it can be absorbed. The skin of a baby is particularly absorbent. Dioxins, a bi-product of the PVC manufacturing process, have been linked to cancer and other serious health problems. Our inks are absolutely safe to wear next to your skin because they don’t contain any harmful chemicals or heavy metals. And also, our waterbased ink is suitable to be used for printing in baby garments.
Our days are spent in constant contact with our inks, washing, handling, breathing in the same space. We use only use water-based ink— because we care for our staff, our clients and our earth. By choosing waterbased textile inks, you are choosing to support healthier, safer working environments for screen printers. As consumers and buyers, you can make a significant difference in the way apparel is printed.
In printing, ink is a vital ingredient. From the largest industrial printing press to the very smallest home printer, every printer needs good quality ink. Every ink is not created the same. There are different types of inks for different purposes and types of printing presses and packaging applications. The digital world is evolving and ink is changing with it.
